Selecting a Tent
Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Expect the Worst
In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all-purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber, or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.

Three- and Four-Season Tents
For summer, early fall, and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three-season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature presealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.

For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four-season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.

Domes and Tunnels
Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one- and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.

Size Matters
Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.

Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

Customer Review: Love this Tent!!
This tent is huge. There are two rooms and each room has it's own door so you don't have to disturb anyone else if you need to get up in the middle of the night. We live in a windy area and this tent held up like a dream. The set up is very easy, I mean, it is big so the first time you do it, it may take 20 mins, but once you get the hang of it you may spend only 10 mins setting it up. There are also lots of clever features inside the tent. The craftsmanship is amazing. The one thing I didn't like so much was that the roof is primarily made of the screen mesh material. Which can be neat if you are not expecting any wind or rain. But if you are in question, the rain fly must be up otherwise you will get wet. All-in-all, we love this tent and will not be moving on to another one for quite some time.
Customer Review: Very Nice Tent and Well made, i love the head room
Very easy to put up and lots of room for a family. Highly recomended. Good quality for BURNING MAN also. You will not be disappointed, if you get it for $175 or less a great deal! Not very many tents you can walk in without hitting your head, but here is one for you tall people.

Once Upon a Time: The Essential Ennio Morricone

Customer Review: Morricone's fan
Customer Review: Excellence!
These recordings range back to 1994, with a number of tracks being from Silva Screen's "Music from the Films of Clint Eatwood" compilation, with Derek Wadsworth conducting the City of Prague Philharmonic. Those tracks are: "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "A Fistful of DOllars", "For a Few Dollars More", and "Two Mules for Sister Sara". "In The Line Of Fire' also appeared on that CD, performed electronically by Mark Ayres. The next bunch of tracks is from Silva Screen's 1996 compilation, "Cinema Paradise: The Classic Film Music of Ennio Morricone", which included the majority of tracks here such as the extensive The Mission Suite, The Untouchables, Casulaties of War, Once Upon a Time In America, 1900, Chi Mai, Marco Polo, Once Upon a Time In The West (two tracks), Cinema Paradise, and The Good the Bad and the Ugly - Ecstacy of Gold, mostly being conducted by Paul Bateman, with Nic Raine doing some of the conducting duties as well. Hamlet is from Silva's 1997 "Cinema's Classic Romances" compilation, while "The Thing" is from Silva's 2001 "Essential John Carpenter". A Fistful of Dynamite - Duck You Sucker is from 2002's Way Out West: Essential Western Film Music Collection Volume Two. The remaing tracks were newly recorded in 2004 for this release: Days of Heaven, Exorcist II, Guns for San Sebastian, Moses the Lawgiver, My Name is Nobody, The Five Man Army, The Red Tent, The Men From Shiloh and The Sicilian Clan. Highly recommended.

RV insurance can easily save your family vacation. RV insurance provides RVers with peace of mind whether the RV is parked in front of your home or at a campsite in Yosemite National Park. RV insurance provides you with coverage for a variety of different events including:

Accident
Theft
Vandalism
Collision
Smoke
Fire
Hail
Windstorms
Landslides

RV insurance can also provide you with coverage for your personal property should your RV be broken into or vandalized. This is important because many people keep belongings in their RV that they wouldn't consider keeping in their car. This includes camping equipment, camcorders, laptops, VCRs, DVD players, clothing and jewelry. This insurance can provide you with emergency assistance in the form of lodging, a rental car and the replacement of your belongings. You are also covered from liability should a campsite visitor slip or fall.

This insurance is essential for many RVers. For some an RV is more than their vehicle for traveling, it may very well be their full-time home. Because of this, you need special insurance coverage to ensure that your travels are safe no matter where you are. Many RVers place their RV on their regular car insurance policy. This is not necessarily a good idea. By placing your RV on your auto policy, you will not be able to take advantage of the liability insurance if someone should injure himself or herself on the RV or your campsite. Your car policy will also not cover emergency assistance should you be involved in an accident that renders your RV undriveable.

Many RV insurance policies will also cover:
Bodily injury or property damage liability
Uninsured motorists
Medical payments
Comprehensive and Collision Options
Roadside assistance
Emergency expenses
Vacation liability
Mexico physical damage
Trailer
Fire Department Service Charge

If you are a full-timer, you may want to consider what your options are when it comes to living on the road full-time. These packages are similar to a homeowner's policy and provide similar coverage. They will include personal liability, medical payments to others, loss assessment and storage shed contents.

The road can be a dangerous place and you want to ensure that you are adequately covered when traveling. No matter what type of RV you have you can insure it with an RV policy. You can opt to not carry the insurance in the winter, but if your RV was broken into, vandalized or damaged you may not be covered. RV insurance covers you no matter where you are parked, so it's better safe than sorry.
